Who: Anyone who chooses to join!
What: Student Mixer!
When: Now until whenever!
Where: A cleared out Study Hall (Doesn't that sound like the best place to party? *snerk*)
Warning: Maybe! Maybe Not! This is THREAD RP so its not hidiously complicated because AIM sucks for multi-player things? Is that even a warning? XD

6pm.
The Study Hall had been cleared of its hundreds of desks and chairs days ago to make room for the coming students and special lights had been fitted to give the room an enhanced "club" effect. Along the side wall opposite to the door, a table had been placed with different types of food and non alcoholic drinks, some foods being plain finger foods such as chips while others appeared more exotic. The school had also bought a load of pizza, the various types sitting in pans awaiting their fate.
Towards the back of the room, a makeshift bar had been set up with two bartenders getting the various types of alcohol ready. Considering that the legal drinking age in the Kalian World was 16, there were no qualms about having alcohol at such an event.
Music came, loud and rythymic, from the speakers and tables and chairs had been set up, both inside and outside for the students.
Students were arriving gradually, some choosing to get up and dance in the wide dancing area provided while some lingered over the tables choosing what they should eat.
Hopefully the evening would be pleasant for all...right?

Pleasant? Well, if Tidus had anything to say about it, sure. After a long, grueling day of slacking off and skipping all his classes for the sake of practicing and finally trying out for the Kalia Dolphins blitz team, followed by a trying time at the local arcade, a mixer seemed the best way to relax.

Not that... the famous Spiran sports icon drank often. Oh no.

He'd arrived fairly early, as there was nothing better to do, with a slight limp. He'd been running through the campus to get there, and didn't... quite see that bench right in his path, and collided into it. Fortunately, the bench caught him by the midsection and although knocked the wind clear out of him, his face never touched the ground.

Alcohol would be a good way to deal with that panging in his solar plexus too, he swore as he headed for the makeshift bar. Gravity sucked.

Alessa Gillespie was sitting at the makeshift bar, minding her own business. She didn't really intend on drinking any alcohol, not really knowing what to order even if she wanted it. She'd been asked several times what she wanted but she shrugged each of those several times and left the bartender confused.
Instead she watched the people slowly flowing through the door, guessing that she should go grab some food soon. But not yet. Right now she was just content with sitting and observing.

She took little notice of anyone approaching the bar, lost in her own little musings about people.

And that's when Tidus hopped up to the bar right beside her and demanded whatever they wanted to make. (Okay... Tidus was much less of a hardass than that, and just asked for water...) It was only after his brave order was placed that he turned and noticed Alessa.

He gave a bright smile and a wave; after all, this was to meet all the new students, right? "Hey!" he greeted. "What's up?"

Angela was only a short distance from the building. She bit her lip, her eyes on the entrance and the people entering and her stomach churning with a nervous uncertainty.

She could always turn back. She could turn back and curl up in bed and read and forget all about the mixer. But at the same time she knew she had to try and get over her fears.
Perhaps she could stay for ten minutes. If she didn't like it, she could leave.

Angela continued to stand. She turned on her heel, walked away, turned again and returned to her previous spot. All her fears spun about in her mind...yet she had to try. She was doing well so far right?

With a deep breath she walked over to the building and entered, scanning the room with her eyes. It was big. She knew no one...She might end up leaving...who knew. She skittered over to a table and sat and waited for the worst.

This...was not good.

Heather was already wobbling a bit on her feet and she had yet to get into the room proper. It struck her--in a vague sort of way--that she likely shouldn't have had that can of beer with Seifer, but, well, it helped to soften the conversation; besides, it'd been far too long since she'd had a good drink, not to mention such good company.

Shaking her head, she cleared away both those thoughts and her vision as she scanned the room. She didn't spot anyone she recognized but...

...oh, wait.

She managed to pick out Ang sitting by a table and, smiling pleasantly, she made her way over. Stumbling to a stop, she peered at the dark-haired woman for a long moment. "Y'okay, Ang? How come you're sitting over here all on your own?"

If it had free booze, Dante was there. That was simply a fact of life. After all, why dip into his own stash when they were offering it? If it was one thing the half-demon was good at, as he pushed the doors open and taking a look around, realizing he was early, it was how to milk the system.

C'mon, he'd been doing it for years.

Well, whatever. He practically swaggered through the doors, tugging at the lapels of his jacket and straightening it, trying to decide if he wanted to get a head start on getting tipsy (he doubted they had enough to actually get him drunk), or to wait and see what kind of shindig it was going to shape up as. So far, there weren't that many cute chicks, and all the guys looked like total jackoffs.

Lovely.

With a sign, he counted his blessings that less pleasant company was absent, and would probably stay that way like the freaky little hermit it was. That? Actually made him feel a wee bit better about the whole thing, as he ambled his way to the bar.

Keeping tabs on one's students wasn't at all peculiar, was it? Of course it wasn't. Especially when those students were as unique as the Sparda twins. The first run in with the, as the school records showed, older twin had been entirely coincidental for Vincent. He'd been catching up with an old friend in the Forensics building that night, but as he was leaving, he'd heard the other fighting to properly restrain the limbs of the emaciated corpse, and engaged without issue.

Vergil Sparda was a magnificent specimen of living Nephilim. A far more perfect balance of genes than history books ever mentioned another being before him. Cold, intelligent, and not at all the uncontrollable monster as those previously documented were...

But as he observed Dante Sparda entering the redone Study Hall, he could tell that though the young man obviously shared identical genes to his brother, his personality was far more... flamboyant.

It hardly stopped Vincent from walking right up to him, intercepting his path and giving a small grin as he toyed his glasses to level on his nose. "You must be Dante Sparda," he said, the grin still on his lips.

Dante had to draw himself to a quick halt, coming close to just plowing the guy over (which was what he got, for getting between Dante and booze), before steadying himself, eyes narrowing at the stranger. Oh, he didn't like the feeling of this one. Not at all. All kinds of weird ass creepy vibes and shit.

"Maybe. Who the hell are you?" Dante didn't place much on, you know, politeness, not when it dealt with one seriously creepy motherfucker like this one. He flicked a somewhat desperate glance at the bar, before returning his gaze to Freakizoid.

Not a happy devil boy. Not at all.

Kadaj moved quietly into the room.

It wasn't necessarily his nature to move anywhere quietly, but, for the moment, he didn't want to make too much of a commotion. For now, he'd be happy just taking in his surroundings and seeing what sort of people his fellow students happened to be; he supposed something could be learned from observation, even if it wasn't his usual choice in methods.

He smirked a bit to himself and, stretching his arms over his head, he again let his eyes meander the room...then allowed them to pause over the bar at the back of the room; now that looked interesting! He'd never really had much to drink before, but...well...this was supposed to be a party.

Grinning, he walked smoothly over to the bar as he tried to think what might be good to order.

Maria smiled as she hopped through the doorway and looked around with curiousity.
There was no way that they could have a party without her, even though she wasn't a student! They'd have to ignore that fact.
This was the first time ever that Maria was left to her own devices at a party and it made her as happy as ever.
There was no one to stop her from doing what she wanted and she revelled in that fact. She was free from her constraints. It was wonderful.

And since everything was free, it meant that she got to eat that night. Because..well...money was tight for an embodiment of lust and desire who had about $5 to her name.

She waltzed on over to the bar and noticed a young silver haired man. Well..time to get to know people.

'Hi!" She said.

Kadaj was small for his age and that was regularly a source of great annoyance.

This was no different as he argued with the man serving the drinks over the fact that he was, indeed, quite over sixteen. In fact, he was nineteen and he'd very much like one of those...what was it...tequila. He was just about to reach across the bar and grab the stupid man when he heard someone address him from the side. Blinking, he turned his face and, spotting an older woman, he tipped his head.

"Er...hello," He responded, nodding to her greeting. It took him a moment, but he finally realized that she was probably one of the professors; it'd probably be best if he behaved, then. "What's up?"

They had asked him here for his expertise.

Alfred knew that much and he'd explain it to anyone who so much as glanced at him. Resplendent in his crisp military garb, he stood at attention at one side of the room and, arms crossed, he surveyed the loose mass of students before him.

Chaperone?

More like leader over all these insignificant ones. Ah, they'd know that before the night was through. He wasn't sure how, as such, but he'd make damn sure they knew that he was the one to answer to, here.

His eyes sharp, Alfred again scanned the group before deciding that the one boy by the table of food really was taking too much of the pizza.

Well, he'd have to be taught a lesson, wouldn't he?

Claire Redfield had actually volunteered to set up the mixer when she heard about it. She planned to go, already, so why not? It was a weekend, and perfect to get in there and cause a little trouble once she was done with the party.

Some sort of strawberry alcoholic sweetness in hand, Claire was busily sucking at the straw of it as she trotted along the floor, and not watching where she was going at all.

Too bad, too, as she then slammed right into someone, and unbeknownst to her, that blonde chaperone in the crisp military garb. "Oh!! I'm sorry!" she said, not bothering to look up as her strawberry goodness had fallen from her hands and spilled over his boots. "Oh man..."

Alfred had opened his mouth to berate the ignorant clumsy oaf who had dared to run into him--not to mention who dared to SOIL HIS BOOTS--but he found that high pitched laugh-giggle escaping him instead.

Oh.

Oh, this was far, far too perfect! Even better than he could have planned!

"Redfield!" He giggled, even as his eyes hardened. She was so close that he had no trouble in reaching to grab her and the fact that they were in a rather public place seemed to have escaped Alfred entirely...not that it was ever much of a factor. "...so we meet again."

For her part, Sherazard had really come to the mixer for... uh, mixing. Considering that drinking alcohol was a) not something she'd ever done and b) really, rather going against the religion she'd been born into and all, she was content to go around making friends and that sort of thing.

Of course, she hadn't taken the fact that she was very, very shy into account when she'd decided to go, and so now she found herself along a side wall with a piece of pizza in hand, wide brown eyes simply taking everything in. She'd made the effort to dress in a much less conservative style-- one couldn't move about in full regale anywhere without questions, after all, and it wasn't like she was OBLIGATED to wear the traditional veil--, but she still felt rather... overdressed and selfconscious. She hoped that the food wouldn't run out, at least. She WAS rather hungry...

A plate piled with pizza clutched in hand, a gangly spikey haired brunette made his way through the crowd. Despite the fact he knew not one single individual, he smiled and waved at everyone as he strolled around the room. It didn't take him long to decide that attempting to eat and walking wasn't a good combination, and he reluctantly decided to paste himself up against the wall for the time being.

Watching everyone interact with his dark blue eyes, he decided that maybe it was a decent choice to peel away from all the social drinkers in the room. Since he didn't plan on gulping down cup after cup of the alcoholic drink of choice, the back of the room seemed like a great place to him.

Glancing on either side of him, he was quick to notice the fellow wallflower. Flashing her a friendly grin and a wave, he swallowed his mouthful of pizza to introduce himself. "Heya! I'm Sora, and new around here!" He paused, facefaulting just slightly. "Well, obviously I'm new here, otherwise I wouldn't be in this room!" He laughed, rubbing at the back of his neck with his free hand.

"Uh...you really dressed for the occasion, yeah?" He attempted to make conversation, and failed miserably. Click-clacking his teeth together in a nervous gesture, he set his plate down on a nearby plastic chair. Still smiling broadly, he had nothing left to say to the girl. So instead of going on about her dress or his new-ness, he just shoved his hands in the pockets of his red shorts and waited for her to speak. Yeah. Her speaking instead would be really great.

She was... startled to say the least. It took a try to let her voice work. "It's nice to meet you, Sora... I'm, um, I'm Sherazard. I'm new too... not that you can't tell, I guess..." She smiled a bit nervously. Then it occurred to her how silly she was being. Of course there were people who weren't completely at home here. "...And a little nervous," she added, sighing and laughing a bit self-effacingly. "I think this room has the most people I've seen in... most of my life." She pushed a heavy chunk of dark brown hair from her eyes and over her shoulder to fall into line with the rest of the waist-length mass. Trying to relax, she let herself slump a little bit. "Does everyone here drink this much...?"

Yazoo, in his typical style, was late.

Stumbling through the door and half expecting the room to be cleared out, occupied only by a homely janitor and a floor-full of scattered beer bottles, the silver-haired youth screeched to a halt, the rubber of his soles skidding along from the hasty momentum. Everyone - or rather, a lot of people he remembered from the network - was here. Marvelous!

Regaining his composure, he straightened his coat and ran a gloved hand back through his silvery locks, slapping on a Grade A smirk as he made his way to the bar. Alcohol was free, and that's the only reason he was socializing tonight, aside from the fact that he'd broken his television set in a failed attempt to get his socks on without losing his balance. Sitting was probably the best idea for that, but no matter. It was booze time.

Angela had decided that she'd had enough dancing for now and broke away to leave Seifer and Heather to their own devices.
She decided that she wanted to take a seat and maybe get a glass of water to drink and so she headed on over to the bar to satisy her thirst. She never really had alcohol and preferred not to try it..but as she walked she kept her head down...and ran into someone...

Bright emerald eyes focused on the bar, Yazoo didn't even see the woman approaching, but he damn well felt her.

"WHOA! Whoa... what th... " He stammered, stumbling back a few steps and looking down. The figure standing before him looked equally surprised, and rightly so. Smacking into a lanky, silver-haired, leather-clad, pasty-faced guy had that effect on a lot of people, it seemed.

Glancing back and forth from the bar to the girl, Yazoo decided after much internal conflict that apologizing and ensuring that she was fine was probably more important than getting his drink.

Or that's what he'd tell himself, anyway, for the sake of his wavering conscience. "Sorry... you alright there?"

Maria looked over her shoulder at the silver haired kid who remained at the bar as she walked towards the dance floor. If only she had someone to dance with.
She'd considered asking him but something had told her to let him alone. She'd already tempted him with tequila.
She smiled as she strode slowly, flicking her hair out of her eyes. Listening to the beat of the music that flooded the room.
She moved her hips to the rhythym, her hands on her hips and moving upwards as she began her...rather provocative.. dance.
She cared not who witnessed. She was enjoying the moment. The freedom that she felt as she moved to the music.
She focused only on her moves, never minding any witnesses. She was deep in the moment.
She felt free.

Angela couldn't help but take a second glance at Yazoo before beelining straight for a table. Forget the drinks. She'd just sit and meld into the crowd.
It was close. That man could have hurt her but...she was safe.
Still...it could have turned out bad.
She bit her lip and rested her head on her hands. Breathing. Once. Twice.
Looking back up. Maybe she was just being stupid. Maybe she'd go and apologise to that man later. Yep..she'd do that later.
But right now she'd just sit...and she'd just watch carefully.

Seifer and Heather were being loud and they were having fun. She didn't want to ruin their fun...no sir. She'd just sit and hide..

Having finally found her way to the study hall, Yuna couldn't help but feel a little bit out of place amongst the crowd. Nervously, one elbow was perched on another arm that clung around the girl's waist. Somehow, her nails found their way in between her teeth as the nibbled on their edges.

Her dual coloured eyes scanned the people's faces quickly, as she sauntered over to one of the four walls. She wasn't exactly sure what she planned to do while there, but she was definitely trying hard to keep her hopes high.
